10 English Teachers and 2 Japanese Teachers are needed for autumn term (August 21st, 2008 to in January 17, 2009) in Liaoning University of International Business and Economics.

Located in Lushun Economic Development Zone in Dalian, a beautiful coastal city at the southern tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, Liaoning University of International Business and Economics is one of the leading business research and teaching institutions in Northeast China.

Currently, there are nearly 10 thousand boarding students aged from 18 to 22 specialized in more than 25 majors in 5 departments in the university. They are from almost all provinces in China but Liaoning students take up a higher percentage. All the students speak English as they have been learning English for more than 6 years, but they need to be encouraged to speak in public and exposed to a better English input.

For the new semester the university is to recruit around 10 foreign English teachers and two Japanese teachers. All the foreign teachers work in Foreign Affairs Department. This office believes in multiculturalism and professionalism in teaching and management. Therefore, English speakers from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and some European countries and Japanese teachers used to work here, and they successfully built up a multicultural English & Japanese environment for our students.

Your teaching supervising Department will be the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Foreign Languages and the Public English Office. The above-mentioned departments will be in charge of your living and working in China. Should you experience any difficulties in the performance of your duties, you are to report them to your supervisor immediately. It is our goal that all employees work in a safe and injury-free environment.

The apartments we offer to foreign teachers are on school campus. They are well-furnished hotel-like rooms. Residents of apartments are provided with various facilities for cooking, telephone, internet and TV. The school campus is very close to the most popular park ¨C World Peace Park of Dalian. It is a seaside park with lots of entertainment facilities inside. Supermarket and grocery stores are very convenient for the life of students and teachers on the campus. It¡¯s more convenient for teachers who live on the campus to go to the teaching place because it avoids daily transportation.

The foreign teacher who has signed the working contract with us are demand to fulfill the following requirements:

-14 teaching hours (45 minutes per teaching hour) (include two hours for attending students

  Activities /English Corner or offering teachers¡¯ training to Chinese English teachers) within 3 days a week

-20 teaching hours (45 minutes an teaching hour) (include two hours for attending students  

  Activities /English Corner or offering teachers¡¯ training to Chinese English teachers) within 4 or 5 days a week

-teach students speaking, reading, writing or some other courses in English according to our university¡¯s curriculum

-the target students are of 18 to 22 years of age with 4 to 6 years of English learning

-write the syllabus for the course you are going to teach and submit it to the Department of Foreign Languages,

and at same time copy to the Department of International Affairs for final approval

-help our college evaluate Chinese English teachers if needed

-set test papers for the courses you teach

-assess students by the end of every semester

-abide by all the working disciplines our college has

-provide good quality of teaching and accept mid-term evaluation from the Department of Teaching Affairs and

  Department of Foreign Languages

-accept teaching training program from the Department of International Affairs in order to improve the teaching

-participate office or university activities (weekly meeting)

We would like to offer the following accommodation:

- 1 bedroom apartment with one sitting room, one kitchen and one bathroom for single person

- necessary electrical appliance (internet, computer, fridge, washing machine, radiator, cooking utensils, vacuum cleaner, TV, water kettle, microwave, bath heater etc.) will be provided free of charge;

- free use of water, power, gas, local call (The fee for above mentioned items will be reimbursed by school within 300RMB per two month; long distance call and international call are paid by users). To make long distance call discounted IP card or some other telephone cards will be much cheaper, which are available just around your living place.

Salary (tax not deducted)

- 5000RMB every month for teaching months (20 hours) or

- 3500RMB every month for teaching months (14 hours)

- still get paid 3500RMB every month in summer and winter holidays (more than 70 days)

- two-way air fair will be reimbursed at the end of the contract based on the price offer from   our airline company ( The offer is usually made during August and September for one year¡¯s round way from our local airline company. Before signing the contract, we will conclude a definite number for the airfare reimbursement)

- 2200RMB holiday allowance for 12 months contract will be paid at the end of the contract

- 1100RMB holiday allowance for 6 months contract will be paid at the end of the contract

- get paid in Chinese Yuan and free exchange of currency

- 2 weeks off in Gold Weeks for traveling----May Day (the first week of May) and National day (first week of October)

- 2 days off on Christmas Day

- free Chinese lessons when it is necessary
